The GardePro X80 Pro GPS Live brings everything we value in a cellular trail camera into one housing: a Sony Starvis sensor for 64 MP photos and 4K video, live view whenever you want it, and built-in GPS that tells you where every camera is. It is the camera we recommend when image detail matters most – identifying a buck at the edge of a field at dusk, or reading a number plate at a remote gate.

Day to day it works like a classic trail camera: the PIR sensor triggers it, and photos or clips arrive on your phone over 4G. Live view is there on top, for the moments you want to see what is happening right now. It is not a permanently streaming IP camera.

• Over-the-air updates and a camera password in the app – a security option few trail cameras offer.
• Unlocked SIM: use a data SIM from any network. With a well-chosen data plan, running costs can be as low as roughly €2.50 a month (depends on your plan). SIM card not included.
• Flexible power: 8× AA batteries or an external 12 V supply (solar panel, mains adapter or battery).

Live view and GPS in the field

Open the app, tap live view and the camera streams what it sees. Use it to check a feeder before you drive out, or to see whether the animals on the last photo are still there. Because live view runs only when you request it, the camera still gets long battery life from its normal trigger mode.

The GPS sends regular position reports, so on a large estate you always know where each camera hangs. If a camera is moved without your knowledge, you will see it in the app.

Hybrid trigger and time-lapse

Hybrid mode combines motion triggering with a timer: the camera can send a status photo at a set interval, from 3 seconds up to 24 hours, so you know it is working even when nothing walks past. Video length is adjustable from 3 seconds to 5 minutes.

Power and set-up

The X80 Pro runs on 8× AA batteries, which are easy to swap in the field. For long-term sites, connect a compatible solar panel, a 220 V adapter or an external battery to the 5.5 × 2.1 mm DC socket (12 V / 1 A). The IP66 housing and an operating range of −20 °C to +60 °C make it suitable for year-round outdoor use. A working 4G signal at the location is needed for sending photos and video.

Is live view always on, like an IP camera?

No. Live view is a stream you start in the app when you need it. The rest of the time the camera works as a trail camera and sends photos or video when it is triggered.

How does the GPS work?

The camera reports its position at the interval you choose – every 24 hours, 3 days or 7 days – and you see it in the app.

Do I need 4G coverage?

Yes. Photos and videos are sent over the 4G network. Without enough signal at the location, sending will not be reliable.

Is a SIM card included?

Do I pay for the cloud or HD downloads?

No. Cloud storage, video sending and HD requests are part of the free GardePro app.
